Job description

  • Position is subordinated to Civil/Structural Department Manager and there are no subordinates coordination of subordinates responsibilities
  • Design activities for projects and studies in various development stages: prefeasibility, feasibility, concept design, basic design, detailed design, permitting, design validation, Technical due diligence, specifications for General Contractor
  • Structural design activities for constructions (buildings, sustaining structures, supports & skids).
  • Structural design activities for structural steel, cast-in-place concrete and precast concrete structures.
  • Pre-sizing of beams/girders, plates, columns, foundations, other.
  • Structural calculations and detailed calculation note.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software for 2D drafting and 3D modellin.
  • Elaboration of layouts for constructions (digging, positioning, formwork drawings, reinforcement drawings, elevations, sections and other).
  • Elaboration of details for execution.
  • Elaboration of technical design reports and specifications for construction works.
  • Bill of quantities preparation.
  • Technical support during construction work
  • Attendance to internal project review meeting.
  • Liaise with architects and other designers, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the concept of the construction.
  • Attendance to meetings with clients together with PM
  • Reports progress on project activities to PM
  • Estimate duration, propose and agree deadlines with PM for allocated design activities.
  • Perform department internal quality checks for documents prepared by other engineers or subcontractor
  • Willing to travel intern and abroad if needed, less than 50%.

Ideal candidate

  • Bachelor degree or Master of Science diploma in Civil Engineering (Checker license will be a plus)
  • Relevant experience in civil/industrial buildings and equipment design
  • Knowledge of most of the concepts, practices and procedures within civil/industrial constructions field
  • Very good knowledge in civil/industrial buildings and equipment design
  • Very good knowledge of discipline Romanian and International standards
  • Good knowledge of using structural and element design: Advance design (Graitec); Etabs (CSI Berkley)
  • Good AutoCAD skills, knowledge of using CAD software for element detailing (Advance Concrete,Advance Steel- Graitec/Autodesk), Revit
  • Abilities in using Microsoft Office package
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain design ideas and plans clearly
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data and assess solutions
  • Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate
  • Team player, self-motivated and ambitious of unquestionable personal professional integrity
  • Positive attitude and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter who shows initiative, independence, give input for technical proposals and carry out constructions design with little or no supervision
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Minimum relevant HVAC design experience: 5 – 7 years
